Potomac Equity Partners Announces the Addition of David Silberstein as Vice President

Washington, D.C.

January 14, 2019

Potomac Equity Partners (“Potomac Equity”), a Washington D.C.-based private equity investment firm focused on small to mid-market investment opportunities in the Business Services, Education and Training, Healthcare, Information Services, and Software and Technology sectors, announced today that David Silberstein joined the firm as a Vice President, starting in December 2018.

“We are delighted to welcome David to the Potomac Equity team. He brings a unique combination of private equity, investment banking and operating experience, and we expect him to make many meaningful contributions as we continue to grow our firm” said John Bates, Founder and Partner of Potomac Equity.

Mr. Silberstein comes to Potomac Equity after having been the CEO of Alert Protective Services, a company acquired through a private equity firm he founded, Anchor Light Partners, LLC. As CEO and a member of the Board of Directors, David significantly transformed Alert Protective, professionalizing the infrastructure of the Company, materially growing recurring monthly revenue (RMR), improving customer attrition, average price per unit (ARPU) and other core performance metrics to record levels and better than industry averages, and expanding on Alert’s footprint and go-to-market strategy—now ranked as one of the largest 85 alarm and security companies in the United States.

Before founding Anchor Light, David worked as an investment professional at J.F. Lehman & Company (JFL), a New York-based middle market private equity firm founded by the former Secretary of the United States Navy, John Lehman.

Prior to JFL, David worked in investment banking at Goldman Sachs and Lazard Frères where he worked on a number of marquee mergers, acquisitions and financing projects. Most notably, David worked on the deal team that advised Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad on its $44 billion sale to Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway.

David earned his M.B.A. with honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and he is also a graduate of Yale University. At Yale, he was a member of an Ivy League Championship Football team and the recipient of the Thomas W. Ford student athlete award.  At Wharton, through his work consulting with small businesses, he was awarded the Wells Fargo Distinguished Leadership Award. David was also the recipient of a Neff Entrepreneurship Fellows award at Wharton’s M.B.A. commencement.
